He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Perkins Gwyn and Alice Kelly Harris; and his brother Owen Gwyn. He is survived by: his significant other Nancy; his children, David (Lisa), Kelly Diamond (Jeff) and Marya Upchurch (Charles); his grandchildren, Julia, Brian, Harris, David and Will; and his great grandchildren, Owen Jr. and John Gwyn.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Ardmore United Methodist Church (630 S Hawthorne Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27103). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 5:30 PM at the Forsyth Country Club (3101 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hollywood Cemetery (451 N Bridge St, Elkin, NC 28621).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NC School of the Arts at uncsa.edu and/or the Piedmont Opera at piedmontopera.org.
