He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Jones Hawkins and Frances Rakes Hawkins; and his siblings-in-law, Rita Taylor and Milt A. Goetz. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Hawkins; his siblings-in-law, Joanne N. Goetz, Joyce Vannoy and Dennis Taylor; his niece Heather Busher (Sean); his great-niece Mirabelle; and his cousin Virginia.
