As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Susan may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Stephenson and Elizabeth Stephenson. She is survived by: her husband John Gates; her children, Andrew Bradley Stephenson Gates and Susan Anna Constance Gates; her brother Tom Stephenson; and her grandchildren, Kate, Henry and Emma.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Arbor Acres (1240 Arbor Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104).
