She was predeceased by: her parents, Claudine Barnes Nelson and James McClain Nelson; and her brothers, Craig and Keith. She is survived by: her daughter Aubry Nelson Koehler; her son-in-law Josh; her granddaughter Ada; her brothers, Chris (Artie) and Joe (Sandy); and her sister-in-law Jan (John). She is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and her tribes of friends.
She was a stay-at-home grandmother to Ada while Aubry worked, including during the pandemic when Ada learned to read at age four, not so surprisingly after 18 months at home with a retired reading specialist.
