She was predeceased by: her parents, Nathan H. Simms and Rosebud J. Simms; her husband Henry E. Stepp, Sr. of Winston-Salem; and her brothers, Nathan F. Simms, Jr. and Jacob E. Simms.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Stepp Drewry (Willie) of Winston-Salem, Henry (Hillary) and Holly; her sister Karen Simms Tolson (Gerald); her sister-in-law Helen Simms (Nathan); and her grandchildren, Danielle Spence and William Eric Spence II. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Russell Funeral Home (822 Carl Russell Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (950 File St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
