He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Loflin Cunningham; his daughter Kathryn Cunningham Jamir (Akum); his brothers, James Clude Cunningham and Richard Doyle Cunningham (Jeannette); and his cousin Myrtle "Tooty" Brant (Ernie Clifton). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
