We announce the death of Seth Bennett Cayton of Winterville, North Carolina, who passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 85. Seth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Cayton and Gaynelle Cayton; and his brother-in-law Michael Hinton. He is survived by: his spouse Pat; his children, Stacey Bennett Cayton (Erica), Hilton Bennett Cayton, Gretchen Cayton Harper (William) and Jamisyn Victoria Gearhart; and his sisters, Carolyn Cox (Tommy), LaVerne Hinton and Sheila Fratzke (Mel). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Winterville Free Will Baptist Church (489 Cooper St, Winterville, NC 28590). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
