He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Crabtree and Esther Carol Wright Crabtree; his son Michael Crabtree; and his sisters, Peggy Daphne Hogg, Sue Ellen Casey, Nancy Kay Nixon and Peggy Joyce Murray.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lee Balcom Crabtree; his children, Rebecca Keith (Sterling) of Cofield, John Crabtree (Kathryn) of McLeansville and Marti Piland (Stephen) of Ahoskie; his grandchildren, Patrick Keith, Cole Piland, Bryant Cottrell, Cody Keith, Andrew Cottrell, Justin Cottrell, Evan Crabtree, Emily Crabtree and Camryn Piland; and his brother-in-law Paul A. Nixon of Franklin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Winton Baptist Church (203 N Main St, Winton, NC 27986).
