He was predeceased by : his parents, Joe Causey Poole and Tina Parrish Poole; his wife Katherine Grey Hardin Poole; and his siblings, Mable Smith, Evon Hunley, Theo Sexton, Stanton Poole, Kurney Poole, Vernon Poole and Clinton Poole.
He is survived by : his children, Kathi Poole of Greenville, NC, Jan Ellen Lewis (Marty) of Asheboro, Melaine Underwood (Eddie) of Asheboro and Mark Poole (Janet) of Asheboro; his grandchildren, Taylor Underwood (Alex), Nichole Lusk (Andy), Melissa Lewis and Haley Coltrane (Zack); and his great grandchildren, Levi Lusk, Layla Lusk, Lane Lusk and Georgia Mae Underwood.
