He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Hayes and Nell Atkins Hayes; and his granddaughter Faith Hodges. He is survived by: his wife Renee Dimmette Hayes; his stepchildren, Brittany Hodges (Robert Reed) and Nathanial Hodges (Hannah); his grandchildren, Aaron, Bradley, Maddy, Mallorie and Meredith; his brother Ricky; his sister-in-law June Hayes; his in-laws, Ray and Rose Ann Dimmette; and his brother-in-law Randy (Leighann).

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Yadkin County Rescue Squad in Mark's name.
