He was predeceased by: his parents, James Laster and Audrey Gallager Mewrritt; his brother Mark Laster; and his siblings-in-law, Marcelle Bass and Danny Hill.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Moore Laster; his daughters, Alice Laster (Jason Denny) and Amber Laster (Joseph Booe); his grandchildren, David Torres, Joseph Booe, Jr., Noah Laster, Raelynn Jarvis, Canaan Lawson and Jazmynn Booe; his sisters, Anne Shropshire (David) and Cathy Hill; and his close friend Sadie Mae.
