Wayne Lamont Godwin Obituary

Wayne Lamont Godwin, 70, of Youngsville, NC passed away in the early morning hours on Friday August 7, 2026. He was born on June 10, 1956 in Ocean County, New Jersey to the late David and Georgia Godwin.

Wayne formally worked in the hospitality industry for Grandover Resort for 26 years before retiring in January of 2026. His favorite activities and interests were playing the piano and singing at church, going to the beach, hanging out with family and friends including his dear friends Betty and Wilma. Additionally, Wayne was a member of Faith Christian Church of Reidsville, NC.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Wayne is survived by his son of the home Kenneth Godwin and husband Nathon Wall; his sister Sharon Godwin of Asheboro, NC; his daughter of the heart Amanda McManama of Radford, VA; along with a host of many nephews, nieces, cousins, and many grand fur babies.

Per Wayne's wishes, no service will be held. A memory stone will be placed in the Mt. Zion Church cemetery Hwy 13, Godwin, NC at a later date.
