He was predeceased by: his parents, James Raeford and Mary Alice Garner Phillips; his children, Ray Phillips and Stephanie Perry; and his former wives, Imogene Phillips and Zilphia "Sissy" Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Belle Phillips; his daughter Wanda Rust of Selma; his brother Carl Phillips (Mae) of Clayton; his grandchildren, Maria Rust of Zebulon and Logan Rust (Lauren) of Zebulon; and his great grandchildren, Daniel, Kyan and Alaina.
