Family, friends, and acquaintances remember John Dee for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. He is survived by: his wife Alicetine Rouse; his daughters, Sonya Rouse of Zebulon and Tammie Rouse of Kinston; and his siblings, Marvin Kornegay of New Jersey, Dennis Waters, Eddie Waters, Bernard Dawson, Lincoln Waters, Jr. of Kinston, Carolyn Grant of Fayetteville, Maureen Villines of Durham and Rhonda Jones of Virginia. He is also survived by two granddaughters and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the R. Swinson Funeral Services (208 E Blount St, Kinston, NC 28501). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the River of Life Church. A burial will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the State Veterans Cemetery (164 Longs Plant Farm Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27534).
