He was predeceased by: his father Johnnie Capps; his former wife Melba Hamilton Capps; his brothers, JC Capps, Billy Capps, Sherwood Capps Stanley and Johnny Ray Capps; his brothers-in-law, Everette Brown, Donsi Stanley and Gail Bailey; and his mother-in-law Esther Hamilton.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Massengill Capps; his daughters, Ruth Annette Ragan (David) and Joy Capps Tant (Travis); his grandchildren, Russell Ragan (Leslie), Jesica Ragan Hill (Anthony) and William Tant (Shaquawana); his great grandchildren, Caroline Ragan, Spencer Ragan, Morgan Ragan, Cam and Zuh; and his siblings, Patricia Capps, Jean Stanley, Hilda Brown and JB Capps.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corinth Baptist Church.
