He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lako and Marian Lako (Gogolin); his children, Daniel Lee Lako and Tonya Ann Foss; his sister Connie; his brother-in-law Leroy Brasel; his brother Wayne Lako; his parents-in-law, Harry and Phyllis Ness; his siblings-in-law, Sandi and Elwood Fearing; his nephew Patrick Fearing; and his niece Heidi Lako-Adamson.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy of Fargo; his children, Mark Lako (Becky) of Arthur, Paul Lako (Julie) of Arthur, Dale Lako (Josephine) of Hunter, Jodi Zieske of Arthur and Elsie Olander (Steve) of Cape Coral, FL.; his sisters, Lois Buchholz of Fargo, Joni Kopischke of Las Vegas, NV and Mariann Provolt (Scott) of Fargo; his siblings-in-law, Viola Lako of West Fargo, Mary Weispfenning (Doug) of Hudson, FL, Ron Ness (Stacey) of Kindred and Rick Ness (Caroline) of The Villages, FL; his grandchildren, Amanda Hart (Calen), Ashley Flynn (Brandon), Chase Lako (Kennedi), Beth Bush (Luke), Jacob Lako (Kelsey), Samantha Andersson (Erik), Casey Zieske (Alyssa), Alexis Shock (Travis), Logan Olander, Alyson Olander, Jacob Foss (Britta), Kyle Foss and Ceejay Foss; and his great grandchildren, Karley, Brooklyn Flynn, Isaac, Eli, Emma Bush, Tristan, Ignatius, Ruben, Johnathan, Desmond Lako, Carl, Alan Andersson, Gage Tommerdahl, Elizabeth, Landon Zieske, Kylee, Ryker, Gentrie Shock, Keely and Kaycee Foss.
