She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank LaFayette and Bernhardine LaFayette (Lohse); and her siblings, Donald LaFayette and Aneta Dillerud. She is survived by: her husband Alvin Lien Jr. of Rothsay, MN; her children, Deanna Lien of St. Cloud, MN and Matthew Lien of Fargo; and her sister Avis Kohler of Fargo. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and god-children.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the West Funeral Home - Casselton (31 6th Ave N, Casselton, ND 58012). A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
She was a talented seamstress who sewed many of her children's clothes and also made quilts for her family and to donate to charity.
