He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Schmidt and Genevieve Schmidt (Goldade); his siblings, Tony, Johnny, Steve (Katie), Eugene Schmidt and Lorraine Kiefer (Russel); his parents-in-law, Kathleen, Jerome Landsberger and Pete Neigum; his son-in-law Dennis Dockter; his great grandchild Michael; Hubert and Louise Baker (Feyereisen).
He is survived by: his wife Joan Baker; his children, Mary Ann Byrne, Dave (Karen Waliser), Kathee Hoff, Dan (Michelle), Laura Schmidt-Dockter, Nora Buntrock (Kim), Andrea Dockter (Curt), Darren (Rona) and Nadine (Cynthia Bryant); his friend Sue Bright; his siblings, Theresia Neigum and Pete Schmidt (Marie); and his sisters-in-law, Anna, Phyllis and Rita Schmidt. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
