He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Gutknecht and Eileen Gutknecht; and his brothers, Bradley and David. He is survived by: his wife Julene Gutknecht; his daughter Kayla Gutknecht-Meschke; his granddaughter Madison Hartleib; and his stepchildren, Natalie Henning of Mesa, AZ, Wendy Dillon (Jerome), Teresa Minniefield (Lawrence) of Peoria, AZ and Ryan Henning (Stephanie) of Littleton, CO..
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Parkway Funeral Service (2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck, ND 58503). A memorial service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Calendar North Dakota Veterans Cemetery (1825 46th St, Mandan, ND 58554).
