He was predeceased by: his parents, Jennie Ruth Copeland (Strickland) and Carl M. Copeland; his stepmother Edna Garris Copeland; his parents-in-law, Charles Olmsted Sr. and Katherine Kary Olmsted; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Olmsted, Charles Olmsted Jr., Gary Olmsted and Darlene Olmsted.
He is survived by: his wife Joann Olmsted; his sons, Brian and Steve; his sisters-in-law, Judy Nelson (Steve), Vicky Weisenburger (Allen), Gloria Olmsted and Shirley Olmsted; his stepbrother Mitchell Garris (Phoebe); and his cousins, George Burbage (Bonnie), Parker Burbage (Sharon) and Mary Lynn Britt (Keith). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
