He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Vorst and Marietta Vander Vorst (Rowerdink); his brother-in-law Reuben Steinert; his siblings, Gerald Vander Vorst and Lyndel Tschritter; and his siblings-in-law, Willie, Bertha Nieuwsma, Franklin Nieuwsma, Gladys Dornbush Seymour, Harlan Dornbush, Sylvia Nieuwsma, Bob Huizenga, Carol Crawford Neukircher, Bob Crawford and Edwin Nieuwsma.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian (Nieuwsma); his children, Jason Vander Vorst and Kristy Grunder (Kyle); his grandchildren, Alyssa, Evan, Lilli, Sophia Vander Vorst, Taylor and William Greene; his sister Nyleen Steinert; his sister-in-law Tess Vander Vorst; his sister Deb Renner (Craig); his brother-in-law Rod Tschritter; his sister Patty Tschritter (Darel); and his siblings-in-law, Gracy Nieuwsma, Lowell Seymour, Willard Nieuwsma, Helen Huizenga, Herb Neukircher, LaVonne Rossow (Jim) and Lorraine Nieuwsma. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
