She was predeceased by: her husband Howard J. Piehl; her son Captain Joel Howard Piehl; and her sisters, Marillyn Ketterling and Eileen Smith. She is survived by: her children, JoAnn Piehl of Hillsboro, OR, Linda Wolski (Chuck), Wendy Peterson (Tim), Velva and George Piehl (Peggy); her grandchildren, Darin Owens (Stacy), Thomas Owens (Stephanie), Andrea Snortland (Chris), Nick Wolski (Kara), London Wolski (Jay Jerger), Terry Peterson (Ashley), Marijo Peterson (Chris Kemp), Sarah Christiansen (Aaron), Alex Piehl (Patricia), Matt Piehl (Sylvia) and Cody Piehl; her sister Leah Vislisel of Hillsboro, OR; and her sister-in-law Patricia Piehl. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, 1825 46 St. Mandan, ND 58554.
