He was predeceased by: his parents, John Grad and Scholastica Grad (Eisenzimmer); his wife Dorothy Bachmeier; his son Emanuel Jr.; his son-in-law Michael Johnson; and his brother Patrick Grad.
He is survived by: his daughters, Marie Johnson Mosbrucker (Keary) of Wilton, Linda Volk (Tim) of Bismarck and Karen Seibel (Jay) of Beulah; his grandchildren, Duane Johnson (Jessica) of Wilton, Darin Johnson (Telli) of Minot, Tyler Volk of St. Paul, MN, Christopher Volk of Bismarck, Jared Seibel (Michelle) of Victoria, MN and Kendra Ungerer (Cody) of Beulah; his great grandchildren, Kiara (Dylan Herner), Isaiah Johnson, Riley, Brady, Kasen Johnson, Carter Volk, Thea and Ellery Ungerer; and his siblings-in-law, Maurus and Bernice Bachmeier of Prescott, AZ. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
