He was predeceased by: his parents, George Obenauer and Martha Obenauer (Klein); his sister Phyllis Bader; and his brothers-in-law, Ronald Watkins, Sr. and Richard Hayes.
He is survived by: his wife Mavis K. Gehring; and his sisters, Donna Watkins of Sioux Falls, SD, Darlene Hayes of Aberdeen, SD and Marcella Schnabel of Detroit Lakes, MN. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
