With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Iona M. Hegel (Bismarck, North Dakota), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 24, 2025 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her father Joseph Hoovestol; her husband Jerry Hegel; her brothers, Clyde, Glenn and Burton Hoovestol; and her grandson Chane T. Hegel.
She is survived by: her mother Myrtle Hoovestol; her sons, Dwight (Kimberly), DuWayne (Pamela) and Darren (Shelly); her grandchildren, Melissa, Chuck Warren, Chad, Jessica Hegel, Erica Imsande, Joshua, Alison Hegel, Eric, Sonya Hegel, Christopher, Lindsey Hegel and Myles Flying; her pet Vedrana Hodzic; her great grandchildren, Josiah Warren, Kylee Hegel, Jasmine Warren, Trysten Hegel, Micah Hegel and Lilly Hegel; and her siblings-in-law, Delbert Hegel, Etheleen Hoovestol and Coralyn Hoovestol. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
