He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert DeForest and Viola DeForest; his siblings, Kathleen Arso and Pat DeForest; his niece Marilyn Arso; his mother-in-law Eleanor Neumann; his close friend Dewayne Edge; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Woodward.

He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Jim (Tracy), Kelley Dockter (Jeff), Jamie Ismir and Cassie Namnoum (Rob); his grandchildren, Jake, Travis, Sydney, Chase, Robbie, Luke, Ben, Grace, Ellie and Casey; his great grandchildren, Jack, Charles and Hank; his siblings, Lee, Frank, Carole Treadway and Bernie Brown; and his siblings-in-law, Carol DeForest, Pat DeForest and Jack Brown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.
