James Mathis Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Mathis of Bismarck, North Dakota, who passed away on November 3, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Mathis and Jean Mathis; his brother Robert Schwanke; and his grandparents, John, Sarah Mathis, Orville and Adona VanNorman.

He is survived by: his wife Heather Hull; his children, Emma Jean of Bismarck, James Lawrence Jr. of Bismarck and Alexander John Mathis of Bismarck; his siblings, Sue Andersen (Mike) of St Paul, MN, Mike Schwanke (Dede) of Little Falls, MN, Rick Schwanke (Kris) of Little Falls, MN, Sandy Morgan (John) of Roaring Spring, PA and Jacqui Shoemaker (Tim) of Kansas City, MO; and his godson Tyler Jerome Schwanke. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
