We announce the death of Jean Sanford (Bismarck, North Dakota), born in Williston, North Dakota, who passed away on June 5, 2026, at the age of 80. Jean will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, John "Hickory" Huffman and Mabel Huffman; her daughter Lori Beth; and her siblings, Cheryl White (William White) and George "Bud" Perry.
She is survived by: her children, Shawn (Lori), Paul and Jill; her husband Doug Sanford; her grandchildren, Michael (Jillian), Ben, Max, Corbin, Tyler, Nick, Jordan, Maya, Ty, Dani and Sami; her daughter Robyn (Patrick); her grandchildren, Lexi and Abbi; her great grandchild Jill; and her granddaughter Tahlia.
Her work was deeply meaningful to her, and even in the later stages of Alzheimer's disease, memories of her time at the State Penitentiary remained vivid and cherished.
