He was predeceased by: his mother Fern Palen (Hansen); his son Dion (Mary); his siblings, Judy and Gary; and his brother-in-law Gerry.
He is survived by: his father James Palen; his wife Karen Hurlbert; his daughter Wendy Bohrer (Robert); his grandchildren, Dalton Bohrer (Nicole), Dawson Bohrer and Delaney Bohrer; his great grandchildren, Addison, Brynlee and Carlyle; his sister Deborah Davis; and his siblings-in-law, Bertha Harper, Cindi Hurlbert and Terry Hurlbert (Paula). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Weigel Funeral Home (309 4th Ave NW, Mandan, ND 58554). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
