He was predeceased by : his parents, Victor Akovenko and Melvey Akovenko. He is survived by : his friend Dianne Moch; his children, Kelly Nagel (Dave), Amy Kraemer (Dan) and Chad Akovenko (Misty); his grandchildren, Madison Nyhusmoen (Dylan), Parker Nagel, Justin Nagel (Melissa), Casey Nagel and Tanner Nagel; his children, Jaden Welk, Macie Welk, Marshall Kraemer, Thea Kraemer, Cage Akovenko, Case Akovenko and Mazey Akovenko; his great grandchildren, Bryker Nyhusmoen and Remington Nyhusmoen; and his siblings, Jim Akovenko (Sue), Margaret Schwandt (Rod), Gary Akovenko, Susie Welch (Brian) and Mike Akovenko (Tammy).
A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church (402 4th St W, McClusky, ND 58463).
