We announce the death of Lugard Leier (Bismarck, North Dakota), who passed away on October 6, 2026, at the age of 94. She was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Valentine and Veronica (Haegele) Jacob; husband: Joe A Leier; children: Allan Leier, Linda (Bruce) Horner, Howard (Marsha) Leier, Joyce Moore, Annette Leier, Gerald Leier, Carol (Chuck) Russo, Mary (Kevin) Vetter, Bob (My Lori) Leier, Kristy Leier (John Harju), Sara (Dave) Gerdon, Helen Marie and Mary Catherine (infant twin daughters); daughter-in-law: Diane (Schuette) Leier; son-in-law: Frank Enstice III; grandchildren: Kelsey Vetter and Joshua Moore; siblings/siblings-in-law (preceded in death): Barbara (William) Fetch, Agatha (Ray) Braun, Theresa (John) Wald, Francis Holdorf, Katie (George) Bachman, Veronica (Pius) Schmidt, Michael (Patricia) Jacob, Johanna (Louis) Wald, Christ (Tillie) Leier, Phyllis Leier, Willie Riedlinger, Vance Rodgers, Roger Frohlich and Adam Leier; in-laws: Maggie Riedlinger, Leona Frohlich, Alvina (Jack) Frohlich, Clara Rogers, Tony (Cathy) Leier, Helen (Stan) Schatz, Mike (Lyn) Leier, Betty (Dale) Stroh; other: Steve (Janine) Jacob, Lori (Steve) Gross, Sherri (Paul) Doll, Shawn Jacob, and Father Mark Aune; and 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Parkway Funeral Service (2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck, ND 58503). A rosary will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Corpus Christi (1919 N 2nd St, Bismarck, ND 58501).
