He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Birrenkott and Anna Birrenkott (Bruning); his wife Kathleen Deitrich; and his sisters, Dorothy Rebenitch, Audrey Koch, Shirley Rinde and Eileen Ehreth.
He is survived by: his children, Paula Whitley of Minneapolis, Michael Birrenkott (Bobbi) of Bismarck and Rebecca Manning (Randy) of Colorado; his grandchildren, Thom Fox (Fabio), Cassandra Langerud (Jon), Jason Birrenkott, Cory Birrenkott, Amber Birrenkott-Geiger (Wes), Emily Jessen and Jared Jessen; his great grandchildren, Samantha (Ian), Keane Birrenkott, Daisy, Ole, Maggie, Lucie Langerud, Dane and Veda Geiger; and his great great grandchild Ridge Placek (Birrenkott).
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials made be given to the donor's choice.
