We announce the death of Michael Makelky (Bismarck, North Dakota), who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 83. Michael will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Makelky and Brita Makelky; his sister Maylou; and his brother-in-law Bob. He is survived by: his wife Arby; his stepchildren, Dawn (Robert) and Mark (Paula); his grandchildren, Ashley (Dustin), Brad (Ashley), Calli, Brent, Alex, Rachel and Sarah; his great grandchildren, Quinn, Mason, Addison, Dextin and Denley; and his siblings, Joan, Patti and Bob.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Mac's memory, to continue his legacy of generosity and love.
