With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruth Schafer of Bismarck, North Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 3, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Katherine Unruh; her former husband Edwin E. Seidel; and her brothers, Armin, Reuben, Rudolph and Roland.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Seidel, Jim Seidel (Kathy), Deborah Berglund (John) and Bettijean Olson; her husband Ray Schafer; her pets, Lady, Princess and Dee; her grandchildren, Jonathan Kerzmann (Linda), Andrew Kerzmann, Lisa Seidel, Nancy Mixon, Trent Seidel, Mandy Cobb (Kevin) and Mitchell Kuntz; and her siblings, John, Emma, Lydia, Ida, Frieda, Ottillia, Rosina and Helen.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran, Church (106 Osage Ave, Bismarck, ND 58501). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
