He was predeceased by: his parents, Gottlieb Kempf and Lydia Kempf (Rothfusz); and his siblings, Annetta Schock, Art, Rudy, Ben and Sylvia Brunskill.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta; his sons, Robert (Constance) of Eugene, OR, Thomas (Mary Kay) of Fargo, ND, Jeffrey (Ann) of Bismarck, ND and Mark (Joan) of Bozeman, MT; and his grandchildren, Christopher Kempf (Heather), Theodore Edwin II Kempf (Diane), Kathryn Roemmich (Monte), Emily Kempf, Benjamin Kempf, Sophia Ferderer (Tanner), Dylan Kempf, Thomas Kempf and Hannah Kempf.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Lutheran Church.
