With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Karen Nelson of Bottineau, North Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 26, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Knute Gravseth and Marie Gravseth (Sveen); her husband Joel; and her in-laws, Esther, Joseph Nelson, Oscar, Laverne, Marlyn and Doris.
She is survived by: her children, Diane Cote (Brian) of Fargo, Marc Nelson (Deb) of Bottineau and Steve Nelson (Donna) of Bottineau; her grandchildren, Angie Bakken (Mike) of Alexandria, MN, Jason Cote (Melanie) of Minneapolis, MN, Travis Nelson (Jenna) of Bottineau, Christin Berger (Travis) of Rothsay, MN, Evan Nelson of Bottineau and Adam Nelson of Bottineau; her great grandchildren, Iziah, Grace, Levi Bakken, Ingrid, Lewis Cote, Sienna, Hailey, Kynlee, Braxtyn Nelson, Paitynn, Wyatt and Whitley Berger; and her sister-in-law Glenda Nelson of Nampa, ID. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the Lesje Lutheran Cemetery or St. Andrew's Hospital Long Term Activities Center.
