We announce the death of Gemma Bachmeier of Carrington, North Dakota, who passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her parents, Benedict Schmidt and Caroline Schmidt (Hoffart); her husband George Walter Bachmeier of John's Church; her siblings, Ignatius, Phillip (Leona), Aloysius, Benedict, Pauline Bachmeier (Nick) and Sister Leonida; and her brothers-in-law, Daniel Hager and Kenneth Schell.

She is survived by: her children, Donovan (Karla) of Jamestown, ND, Ronald (Ann) of Fargo, ND, Clarence (Sonja) of Colorado Springs, CO, Marietta Weber (Tim) of West Fargo, ND, Sharon Wolf of Devils Lake, ND and Dianne Straley of Carrington, ND; her grandchildren, Desiree Winjum (Scott), Simone, Sophie Bachmeier, Baret Bachmeier (Jessica), Kate Kinnison (Zack), Maria Wolf-Burdick (Jake), Ben Wolf, Tiffany Straley and Alisha Teves; her sisters, Bernadine Hager, Carole Schell and Monica Fred (Larry); and her sisters-in-law, Delores Schmidt and Eleanor Schmidt. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
