She was predeceased by : her parents, Samuel Samuelson and Gudrun Samuelson (Johannesson); her husband Stanley Briese; her siblings, Genieve Samuelson, Theodore Samuelson (Mary Ellen), Roberta Watterson and James Samuelson; and her siblings-in-law, Julie Samuelson, Richard Matsuura, Don Teel, Jackie Watterson, Marvin, Minnie Briese, Walter, Clara Probst, Ray, Lila Martin, Harvey, Flossy Briese and Betty Briese.

She is survived by : her children, Pamela Hollis (Michael), Green, Susan Nelson (Bradley) of Cavalier, ND, Rochelle DeFoe (Robert) of Pembina, ND, Mark Briese (Tami), Marilyn Sagert (Keith) of Neche, ND and Danielle Olason (Douglas) of Hensel, ND; her siblings, Robert Samuelson (Diane), Marlene Teel, Jewell Matsuura and Richard Samuelson (Sharon); and her brother-in-law Charles Watterson. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
