In loving memory of Jason Schmidt of Crystal, North Dakota, who departed this world on August 8, 2025 at the age of 54. Jason leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Schmidt; his grandparents, William, Anita Schmidt, Aaron and Bonnie Rolf; and his father-in-law Leo Mock.
He is survived by: his father Ivan Schmidt; his wife Serena; and his children, Paige (Jayden), Austin, Madelyn and Ava. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM and on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A rosary was held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Saint Paul's Catholic Church (218 1st St NE, Tappen, ND 58487). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Kidder County High School (101 4th St NE, Steele, ND 58482). A burial was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fisher Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the North Dakota Stockman's Foundation, 4520 Ottawa St., Bismarck, ND 58503 or the Kidder County FFA Chapter, 101 4th St. SE, Steele, ND 58482.
