He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Steffen and Frances Steffen (Kuntz); his parents-in-law, Nick and Clara Hettwer; his siblings, Louie, Theresia Eback and Clara Jane; and his siblings-in-law, Bernard Samek (Bernie) and Leodina Steffen (Lee).
He is survived by: his wife Grace Hettwer; his daughters, Luanne Krein (Kyle), Marilyn LaMotte (Jim) and Cheryl Becker (Kevin); his grandchildren, Jarrod Ramsey, Erin Doyle (Nestor), Kirsten Scott (Mike), Kaylin Krein (Adam), Brett Becker (Lauren), Breanna Becker, Brady LaMotte (Katelyn) and Mariah LaMotte (Melissa); his great grandchildren, Austin Bicker, Asher Doyle, Avery Becker and Alexander Scott; his sisters, Barbara Samek and Anna Hettwer (Harvey); and his brother-in-law Bernhard Eback. He is also survived by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Bert's girls, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
