It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marilyn Braathen (Devils Lake, North Dakota), born in Langdon, North Dakota, who passed away on June 24, 2019, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Oyos and Martha Oyos (Galasen); her son-in-law Steve Nies; and her sister Yvonne Oyos. She is survived by: her husband Gordon Braathen; her children, Debra Nies of Mesa, AZ, Marcia Torning (Walt) of Lakeland, MN, Gordy Braathen (Linda) of Grand Forks, ND and Kent Braathen (Sandy) of Grand Forks, ND; her grandchildren, Christopher, Eric (Yvette), Nicholas O'Brien (Alyssa), Maria Baer (Tyler), Nils Torning (Jenny), Martha Stewart (Drew), Tyler (Jenny), Robbie (Jessica), Levi, Jesse (Carly), Jordan Braathen (Savannah) and Jace Braathen; her siblings, Faye Wermerskirchen (Tom) of Park Rapids, MN, Marvin Oyos (Connie) of Fergus Falls, MN and Keith Oyos (Barb) of Minneapolis, MN; and her sister-in-law Clara Lee of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
