He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe and Louise; his grandson Matthew Wood; and his brothers, John Gilbert and Bob Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Joe Gilbert (Jo) of Mankato, Valerie Wood (Bill), Ron Gilbert (Colleen), Jerry Gilbert (Diane), David Gilbert (Heather) and Grand Forks; his grandchildren, Jacob Gilbert, Andrea Gunther (Ryan), Jessica Herrick (Matt), Kristin Brodell (Matt), Evan Wood, Travis Gilbert of Justin Gilbert, Ryan Gilbert and Taylor Gilbert; his great grandchildren, Arya, Rayanah, Sam, Sophie, Aidan and Brecken; his siblings, Maye Lundeen of Lemoyne, George Gilbert (Janice) and Shirley Viske (Fred); his brother-in-law Paulette Gilbert of Goodhue, MN; and also, Adam Hager, Corrine Hager and Palm.
