He is survived by: his wife Glenice Hansen; his children, James Hansen (Shelley), Dale "Sharky" Hansen and Jodi Voegele (Jason); his grandchildren, Brenna Wendland (Brandon), Brooke Rutledge (Collin), Madison Gregory (Nick), Grace Hansen, Matthew Hansen, Tavin Voegele and Jorryn Voegele; his great grandchildren, Jessie, Ronnie, Scottie Wendland, Elliot and Conrad Gregory; and his siblings, Gary "Butch" Hansen (Pat) and Virginia Salmonson.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Stevenson Funeral Homes - Dickinson (2067 1st St W, Dickinson, ND 58601). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St John Lutheran Church - Elca (146 6th Ave W, Dickinson, ND 58601).
In lieu of flowers, Dale preferred memorials be directed to the St. John Trust Fund, Badlands Ministries, St. Luke's Home or the DSU Heritage Foundation.
