He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Adale Ellenbecker (Sangster) and Leo Ellenbecker; his brother Doyle; his daughter Karla Jean; his sister Phyllis Clinton (John); his parents-in-law, Louis and Anna Kostelecky; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Olheiser.
He is survived by: his wife Bertha Anna Kostelecky; his sons, Paul D. Ellenbecker (Amy) of Minot, ND and Wayne D. Ellenbecker (Cindy) of Coeur d'Alene, ID; his grandchildren, Kelsey, Nicole, Alexis, Brittney, Sebastian and Daphne; his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Isaac, Christian, Isadora and Landon; and his sister Marge Bartle (Larry) of Bellevue.
