He was predeceased by : his parents, Verna Frey (Wein) and Eugene Frey; and his brother Mark Frey. He is survived by : his wife Marty Jo; his daughters, Kimberly Wanner (Jay) of Dickinson and Kristi Samuelson (David) of Jordan, MN; his siblings, John Frey (Cathy) of Redmond, OR, Michael Frey of Desmet, SD and Mary Davidson (Calvin) of Aberdeen; his grandchildren, Ryan Samuelson, Cameron Wanner, Nicole Adomat (Cody) and Kara Wanner; and his great grandchild Oakley Adomat.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
