He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Barnhart and Florence Barnhart (Knudtson); his brothers, Andrew and Sheridan Barnhart; and his granddaughter Zoey Paulson.
He is survived by: his wife Leona; his children, Troy Barnhart (Tina) and Lisa Buican (Brett); his grandchildren, Kyler, Keiana Buican and Cheyden Paulson; his stepgranddaughters, Heather and Amber; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Liam, Serenity, Sebastian and Sawyer; his siblings, Faron Barnhart (Kiddo), Blanche Barnhart, Shirley Irons (Chuck), Janice Okpanachi (Isaac) and Beverly Turbiville (Walter); his brother-in-law Edwin Hecker (Eva); and his sister Laura Hecker. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, December 7th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A prayer was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Stevenson Funeral Home - Dickinson (2067 1st St W, Dickinson, ND 58601). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. John Lutheran Church - Dickinson (146 6th Ave W, Dickinson, ND 58601).
