He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Nelson and Mary Nelson (Mullan); his sisters, Margie Ougletree and Shirley Bjork; and his parents-in-law, Francis and Evelyn Aaserude.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Evelyn Aaserude; his children, Tammy Renfrow (Kelly) of Dickinson, ND, Terry Holman (Dave) of Philip, SD, Tracy Turner (Chip) of Heber, UT and Tim Nelson (Lisa) of Cashmere, WA; and his brother Richard (Dick) of Emerado, ND. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Amundson Funeral Home (2975 S 42nd St, Grand Forks, ND 58208). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
