He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Steiger and Martha Steiger; and his former wife Preceding. He is survived by: his siblings, Emma and Teddy; and his siblings-in-law, Julianna Malsom of Ipswich, SD, Beverly Baumstarck of Worland, WY, Fran Leingang of Fargo, ND and Adam Baumstarck (Cecilia) of Linton, ND. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In his younger years he eagerly gave many gallons of blood and was recognized for his donations.
