It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bruce Duane Speer of Fargo, North Dakota, born in Moorhead, Minnesota, who passed away on July 10, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his friend Mary; his parents, Donald Speer and Ellen Speer; his sons, Duane Speer and Christopher Speer; his wife Leslie Speer; and his brothers, Darrell "Pete" Speer and Lynn Speer.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Sheffey of Watervliet, MI, Doreen Knodel (Myron) of Glyndon, MN, Bruce "Chuck" Speer (Kerrie) of Long Prairie, MN, Kesa Quinlan (Jayson) of Coon Rapids, MN and Wesley Ryden-Speer of Frazee, MN; and his siblings, Joe Speer (Kolynn) of Ulen, MN and Carol Maki of Felton, MN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Home and Cremation Service- Hawley And (404 Leonard St, Hawley, MN 56549). A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 5:15 PM at the Eksjo Lutheran Cemetery.
