He is survived by: his wife Erma Shortridge; his children, Colleen Kalajainen (Brad), Gene Shortridge and Kevin Shortridge; his sister Lois Schwartz; his grandchildren, Kaylee DeWitt (Mitch), Ben Kalajainen (Eric) and Dylan Shortridge; his great grandchildren, Avery DeWitt, Maddox DeWitt and Marley Shortridge; his niece Julie Demirsar; his nephew Darin Schwartz (Kaysie); his great-niece Katie Andrews (Darius); and his great-nephews, Josh Demirsar and Spencer Schwartz.

“So sorry to hear of Charles death. Charle and I did a lot of visiting when I was in Walhalla and he in Langdon. Many a fine conversations on the drives to Long Term Care meetings all over the state. Charles was a prince of a man and God will be welcoming him to Heaven. Prayers to the whole family on his passing!”
